Mark is the Naval Historian and director behind the 'American Supership' and 'This is my Battleship' documentary films. His love of ships started at a very young age with regular visits to Navy Days. Fourteen years with the BBC taught him documentary film-making. These two passions collided in 2012 when USS Iowa arrived in Los Angeles, bringing a complete treasure trove of stories to a storyteller ready to tell them.

'This Is My Battleship' is a series of documentaries telling the story of the lives on USS Iowa from the unique perspective of her crew.  By preserving the oral history of the ship, the film will create an inspirational record of the people who served aboard USS Iowa.  This will strengthen the connections between veterans and the public and teach the value of listening to our forebears.  The goal is to allow a glimpse into the microcosm of the Battleship’s function as a 'home' to all its sailors, through their personal stories.
